Meet our Coaches!
Amanda Palmer - Head Skating Director
I began figure skating at age 5 and spent many of my skating years in the Midwest competition circuit under the instruction of National, International and Olympic level coaches at the United States Figure Skating, Novice level. My coaching career began in 2005 at The Greeley
Ice Haus of Greeley, Colorado while I attended the University of Northern Colorado for Sports Medicine and Communication. I began as a Learn to Skate instructor and moved to
competitive, private instruction later in 2007 in which I continued until 2015. My philosophy for
coaching is simple; make it an experience.
Coaching is more than teaching elements to a skater- it’s about building a positive, influential relationship with each athlete- no matter where they are in their skating journey. Many of the lessons learned on-ice can be applied off-ice, for many years to come.
I joined the Cheyenne Ice and Events Center, Learn to Skate coaching staff in 2020 and was named Skating Director in Spring of 2022. I look forward to continuing to work alongside rink management to grow and enrich a valuable Learn to Skate program for the community of Cheyenne!
Britainy- Skate Coach
Hi! My name is Britainy, I am 25 years old and have been skating since I was 3. I have earned my gold medal in Moves in the Field and Novice in Freestyle. I graduated from West Virginia University in 2019 with a bachelors degree and currently serve in the United States Air National Guard. I have many years of experience coaching Learn to Skate in my hometown of Pittsburgh, PA. I am excited to coach Learn to Skate in Cheyenne for the third season and continue to learn all the new and returning skaters!
